Ardalan made more than 200 hundred sculptures in ceramic and then took photos of them. Accumulation of sandals can be considered as a loaded image that has historical connotations and denotes various traumatic events. And he also has been inspired by a poem by Iranian avant-garde poet Ahmad Shomolu
“If freedom could sing a song

of human absence,
that human presence
creates life”.
